The Cliffs Golf Course hopes to cut expenses and reduce labor with its new PTR Systems pump station that was recently installed at the course.
"We are hoping that the new pump station can cut our maintenance expenses from $60,000 a year down to $30,000 annually or less," said John Snyder golf course superintendent at the semi-private golf course. There have been no problems since the pump was installed in mid June.
The previous pump station had to send the water up and down a hill before it reached the golf course. The new system will only go up the hill once and then go directly to the course.
Another problem with the old system was that it had some motors that were not always running effectively so a lot of energy was wasted. All of the motors in the PTR system have been running with no hitches since it was put in.
