Horse Power Calculator
To determine the maximum natural brake or reduction in horse power created when the Cycle Stop Valve chokes back your pump:
- Enter your minimum expected flow or demand. When using a Cycle Stop Valve, this minimum flow is determined by the built-in minimum flow for your particular model valve. (ie: 1, 2, or 5 GPM)
- Enter the head in feet that your model pump builds at the minimum flow.
- Enter the efficiency for your pump at the minimum flow.
- Click "Calculate" to find BHP.
- You can also figure your maximum HP. Repeat steps 1-4 using the maximum flow expected instead of the minimum flow. This calculator can be used for all flows in between as well.
